Our Environment

Designed With Purpose – Spaces That Inspire and Nurture

At Gingerbread, our learning environments are more than just classrooms—they are carefully crafted architecturally designed spaces to support every child’s growth, curiosity, and well-being. Our centre design is the result of thoughtful collaborations with expert architects, who have worked closely with us to create spaces that truly reflect our educational philosophy and practical needs.

Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Flow

In addition the above Kindergarten program, our children are provided with extra- curricular activities including yoga, drama, planting vegetables and learning about their natural environment. We also have weekly classes provided by professionals such as music, sport and Spanish as a second language.

Natural Light and Open Spaces

Our rooms are intentionally designed to maximise natural lighting, creating warm, welcoming spaces that nurture wellbeing and enhance concentration. The use of square-shaped rooms supports our commitment to best supervision practices, allowing educators to maintain clear sightlines and ensure every child is safe and supported.

Inspired by Reggio Emilia – The Art Studio and Atelierista

We have incorporated a dedicated art studio featuring an atelierista—a specialist art educator—a concept inspired by the renowned Reggio Emilia approach. This space celebrates creativity as a powerful form of expression and learning. The atelierista works alongside children and educators to explore materials, techniques, and ideas, encouraging each child to become a researcher in their own learning journey. Our thoughtfully designed spaces reflect our belief that the environment is the “third teacher”—a vital partner in every child’s discovery and development. At Gingerbread, every corner, window, and doorway is an invitation to wonder, create, and grow.
