The most important goal of our early childhood program is to nurture a genuine love of learning. We encourage children to become active, creative explorers—confident in expressing their ideas, asking questions, and thinking independently.
By fostering curiosity and resilience, we support children to grow into self-assured, capable learners who are equipped not just with knowledge, but with the skills to learn for life.
Our school readiness program is thoughtfully designed and delivered by experienced educators in a warm, homely environment—where children feel safe, supported, and free to simply be children.
Our curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia – Belonging, Being and Becoming. This nationally recognised framework underpins our approach, shaping the principles, practices, and outcomes that support children’s learning from birth to six years of age, while also ensuring a confident and successful transition to school.
Play is the foundation of all learning. Before children begin to understand abstract concepts like letters and numbers, they learn through play—exploring, experimenting, and making sense of the world around them.
Through play-based experiences, we achieve the key goals of our curriculum and support every child’s development.
At Gingerbread Kindergarten, our program is responsive to each child’s individual needs and guided by a strong understanding of early childhood development.
Each week, our educators observe children and document their progress across key developmental areas, including social and emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development. These observations inform a tailored program designed to support each child, while also creating meaningful learning opportunities for the group as a whole.
At the end of each week, educators reflect on and evaluate the learning goals, using these insights to guide the following week’s planning. This ongoing cycle ensures our program remains dynamic, intentional, and aligned with each child’s growth.
We value strong partnerships with families. Developmental records are always available for discussion, and key updates, learning experiences, and daily activities are shared with you through our Childcare App.

The activities we plan for children, the way we organise the environment, select materials, plan the daily routine, and talk with the children, are all designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum and give your child a successful start in school.
